Ball Screw Rebuilding Stages:

  • When a Ball Screw is received at BSU it is visually inspected for wear and total indication run out.
  • Disassembled
  • Regrind screw if necessary or relap and polish.
  • Return tubes and wipers replaced if needed
  • Nut reground or replaced if needed
  • Inspect for straightness
  • Inspect Bearing Journals
  • Ground hard chrome plate and regrind back to finish sizes
  • Reassembled with oversized chrome steel balls to compensate for backlash
  • Ball Screw is tested for the correct amount of torque

BSU guarantees total indication run out + or - .0001 to .0002 per linear foot

In the event your ball screw cannot be refurbished BSU will quote you on a new Ball Screw and Nut Assembly.
